What to See & Do

The New Forest & surrounding area provides almost boundless activities!

The New Forest offers all types of activities for all types of people!

The obvious reason most people come to the New Forest is to see the outstanding natural beauty and wildlife, but there's lots more to see and do here.

There's the many castles or manors in the area to explore as well as the numerous and varied picturesque beaches. You could learn something of the heritage of the New Forest in the many museums and galleries, or wonder round some amazing gardens.

Hiring a bike is a good way to discover the Forest and meet the ponies! If you did want to try horse riding there are 2 very well established riding schools very close by. One is on our road and specialises in Western riding. You could ride around the Forest western style, then come back to the cowboy / ranch style yard for a BBQ!

There are fantastic golf courses if you're a golfer, particularly Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Burley. Just try not to hit a pony on the course!

Fishing is excellent in the New Forest with coarse fishing, trout fishing and sea fishing on offer.

We have a comprehensive 'What to See and Do' folder in Little Bunty Lodge with a list of special events organised in the area on the dates you visit.

There's also a list of the various Eating and Drinking establishments.

We also have a guide to walks and cycle-ways in the area that you're free to borrow, as well as a forest map.
